Fourth of July in Provo

Happy Fourth of July from Provo, UT.  It's a beautiful day and we went to a great parade.
Everyone was getting ready next to BYU's gyms.
Jennifer, James, Annalise, Jessica, and Ruby: we all walked down to the parade together.  (I couldn't go to a 4th of July parade without some face painted flags!)

This is BYU's float.  As you can imagine, we cheered plenty loud as it went by.

A few floats later this truck drove up.

Behind it was Cosmo, doing tricks on his trampoline.  They would stop, unload a trampoline-ramp, and do flips to  dunk the basketball.
You might think that BYU got the most cheering.  It was pretty close (you could hear crickets chirping for the other Utah schools' floats- just kidding).  The group that definitely got the loudest reception was this one:

That's right: it's our wonderful sister missionaries!
And bringing up the rear were the elders.  You'd think everyone at the parade was Mormon by the way people were cheering, which probably's not too far from the truth, at least in the area we were sitting in, since everyone was cheering.
A lot of the floats were really elaborate.

Must have been cool to ride up on top.

I thought this float was cool: they had two pianos on it and the girls were playing patriotic music on them as the truck pulled them.

There were lots of horses and people in costumes.
Cinderella's carriage went by.
And this float came from the Tangled movie.  Each city in the county had its own float.  It was funny to see what each town chose.  Apparently Orem likes Disney movies.
The parade lasted for a little over an hour.  The cloud cover kept it comfortably warm.  After the parade we walked back to the dorms to cool off and eat lunch.  Later, we're making a strawberry pie and anyone in the Relief Society who wants to is coming over for a 4th of July dinner and then we'll watch the fireworks.  I hope you guys have a great 4th of July!
