August is a very important month. For starters, it is the month that we've started school. We officially started school-dubbed Franklin Academy, after Benjamin Franklin- on Monday, August 2, 2010. It was so exciting! We started up with lessons about the American Indians, the Iroquois League in particular, and now we are learning about Yellowstone National Park, because this year we are going to learn American history. We are also learning math and grammar and science. We are also excited because a homeschooling family with five kids moved in across the street. They have a 3 year old, a 5 year old, a 7 year old, a 13 year old, and a 17 year old (all ages are approximate). They are really nice and everyone gets along. We've played outside with them almost everyday at recess.
This school year at Franklin Academy has definitely got off to a good start, and we hope to keep it that way throughout the year.
